Black Dog Strategies was founded by consumer marketing and public relations veteran Alissa Blate to offer clients a consistently high level of strategy and execution not provided by most agencies today. As the focus on growth and agency bottom line often supersedes high touch strategy and execution, agency senior executives are rarely if ever involved in day to day client business. Alissa founded Black Dog Strategies to give clients personalized attention and is directly involved in every client account.
Alissa has guided communications strategy for global companies, C-Suite executives and brands in a multitude of industries. She is a recognized thought leader for developing industry-leading marketing communications campaigns that impact business results, and create new opportunities for companies, organizations and brands.
Prior to founding Black Dog Strategies, Alissa was Executive Vice President, Global Brand Marketing and Communications for MWWPR where she founded the agency’s flagship consumer lifestyle marketing and brand practice. Under Alissa’s leadership, the agency grew to a top five consumer lifestyle agency, earning recognition for best in class campaigns and acknowledged by business and industry organizations worldwide.
Alissa has been honored with many marketing and communications awards for client programs, including the coveted Silver Anvil and Bronze Anvil awards from the Public Relations Society of America and numerous awards for excellence in communications. She has been named Brand Marketer of the Year (PR News) and recognized by NJ Biz for the prestigious “40 Under 40” list as well as New Jersey’s Best 50 Women in Business.
Alissa formerly served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chair, Community Outreach Committee for the New Jersey Red Cross, and Advisory Member, Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts. She is very involved in community non-profit initiatives with local organizations in New Jersey.
